ABOUT US
Jillyfish Swim School began in February 2016. It has been a lifelong dream to be owner-operator of our own swim school. Both Reece & I have been involved in the New Zealand Aquatic industry for many years & have a wealth of knowledge & skills between us. More importantly a love of all things aquatic, & a passion for teaching & helping others to develop a love & respect for water, which will lead to a life long enjoyment of aquatic activity.
New Zealand sill has too many drownings due to people's lack of understanding & ability to recognise dangerous stituations or the skills to deal with these should they find themselves in them. Swimming & water safety are LIFE SKILLS & EVERYONE needs to have the opportunity to learn these from experienced, qualified, accredited teachers.
Reece Kennedy & Jill Seymour
Reece is the owner-operator at Jillyfish Swim School & has an extensive background in New Zealand's learn to swim industry. As well as other aquatic industry involvement, Reece has been involved in teaching people to swim since the mid 1990s along with regular & ongoing professional development & attendance at National & International Learn to Swim conferences here and abroad. It was always Jill and Reece's dream to have their own swim school, unfortunately Jill passed away in May 2020 and never got to see her dream through to completion. Jillyfish swim school is

BACKGROUND - REECE
Napier being Reece's backyard saw him growing up in a swimming pool swimming competitively & competing in surf lifesaving. He continued working in this field when he travelled to live in the UK for a number of years & took various teaching positions around London & the USA. Reece completed his ASA qualifications in UK, (governing body for UK swimming). Once returning home in the mid 90's he entered the world of aquatic facility management which saw him at carious large indoor/outdoor centres incorporating swim schools & training squads. He has continued his involvement in surf lifesaving & was recently acknowledged with a distinguished service award for his contribution. Reece is also an accredited AUSTSWIM teacher as well as holding a Swimming NZ Level 1 coach license.

At Jillyfish, we teach our students these critical skills in a friendly, fun, encouraging & non threatening environment. We are committed to excellence & specialise in delivering high quality water safety & swimming lessons in small class sizes taught by experienced AUSTSWIM accredited teachers, in a warm indoor pool.
