Cost & Payment?
Lesson workout at $21.50 per lesson a full term of 11 weeks costs $236.50. Payment is in 7days of receiving invoice or by installments on request.
Does my child have to wear a cap and goggles?
Yes, it is a requirement for ALL swimmers to wear a cap and goggles in the pool from school age and up. This keeps hair out of your child’s face when swimming.
Do I have to stay for my child’s lessons?
It is a legal requirement for swimmers under the age of 8 to have a parent or guardian poolside during their entire lesson. Siblings and other children under 16 years poolside must have a parent or guardian onsite.
Will lessons run in the school holidays?
For the first week of the holiday, the lesson day and time remains the same.
This was a decision we made early on in our business planning. This decision was based on the following:
Children make better progress with consistent lessons. 2 weeks off every 10, breaks the cycle of learning and can cause regression, particularly at the lower levels. 1 week off offers a break for children and staff without losing progress.
What happens if my child misses a lesson or we go on holiday for an extended time?
Jillyfish Swim School is unable to grant refunds if your child is sick or you go on short holiday. The exception being severe medical circumstances, which must be approved by the Manager and may require a medical certificate. We will always look to offer a make up class for absence if possible (please note this is not guaranteed). Long breaks due to major injury or extended holiday (3weeks), we will look to credit your account or provide make ups.
Please contact us via email/text/phone to let us know your child will not be attending, or go into your customer portal and mark them as absent.
How many children are in each class?
We operate 3 pools. Pool 1 temp 32, Pool 2 temp 31.5, 25m pool temp 28 degrees.
Our class sizes are as follows:
Parent in water up to 8 students max
Pre School Parent out of water 3
School age Tadpole through to King Nemo 4
School age Jnr Crocodile to King Crocodile 5
Bronze Shark to Gold Shark 7
Fitness 8
Obviously as the level increases so does the number of children in the class. This is because more of the pool is used and children doing an activity can be staggered and don’t need to be within arms reach of the instructor.
Class sizes fluctuate, depending on class movements each term. As you can appreciate, it is a jigsaw puzzle moving children each term and we never know which places will be needed on a term-to-term basis, hence needing flexibility to move swimmers around.
